The first 25 photograph submissions will receive a $10 credit on their Vanderwist account.

1st PLACE: $150
2nd PLACE: $90
3rd PLACE: $65

All prize earnings are placed on your Vanderwist account as a credit.

Photo Submission Instructions:

Feel Free to be as Creative as You Would Like.

The photograph should display your irrigation system and/or lighting system operating.
1. Email your photograph to: Erika@vanderwist.com
2. Please attach your photograph to the email.
3. In the body of the email, please include your address and the best telephone number for us to reach you! *This will be used for Office purposes only and will not be displayed to the public.

Other photo submissions may be posted as well. If you do not want us to display your photograph, please make note of this on your submission. Contest winners will be contacted directly by email. A Quick Reminder about Scheduled Services

As a valued customer of Vanderwist of Cincinnati, Inc. this is just a reminder and/or review of our terms and conditions with regards to servicing your irrigation and/or outdoor lighting system.

You are required to have an authorized party present throughout the duration of service.
A signature and payment must be collected upon completion of service.
For your convenience, we will call ahead to ensure you are available and to let you know we are on are way. Please confirm with the office staff the best way to reach you. Our Service Technicians are able to wait up to 5 minutes for a return phone call. If you do not answer or return their calls, he is instructed to move to the next call. We cannot guarantee we will be able to return on the same day. Reminder calls are also provided with an automated service.

These procedures are in place to ensure your satisfaction, get feedback, and prove quality workmanship. Please contact our office by phone or email should you have any questions or concerns.

Note: This is not applicable to Option 1 Service Customers.

National Gardening Month- Conserve Water

April is National Gardening Month. We would like to discuss water conservation as you are out there making the landscape look lush and beautiful. Installing a Solar Sync to your irrigation system is a great way to eliminate water waste by not running the system after large amounts of rain. Also, watering during the early morning hours helps due to temperatures typically being lower. Water that is applied during the heat of a day is lost through evaporation.

Winterizations & Freeze Precautions

Winterization Freeze Precautions

Winterization is a precautionary measure taken to protect your investment during freezing weather. As we cannot predict the severity of winter weather, winterization is not guaranteed to eliminate spring repair work.

Should freezing conditions occur before you winterize:

1. We suggest that you turn your water off at the shut off point and unplug your pump (should your system utilize a pump) before running the controller.

2. Run your controller on semi-automatic twice

3. Wrap any exposed copper lines or backflow preventers with newspaper and plastic.

This should adequately protect your system until we are able to make your appointment.

1st annual 2014 “Show Us Your System Photo” Contest!

Thank you to all of our wonderful customers who submitted photographs for our first photo contest. It is exciting to realize our customers are as proud of their irrigation and landscape lighting projects as we are. What a fun way to show what has been accomplished over the years. We plan to do this contest again next year as we continue to improve outdoor living spaces. Get your cameras ready!

After much office deliberation the winners are:

1st Place– Winning a $125 Vanderwist account credit

2nd Place- Too close to call!
Both will be winning a $75 Vanderwist account credit

3rd Place– Winning a $50 Vanderwist account credit
